Dry mounting with heat activated adhesive bonds art on paper to a mounting board. The print stays flat and humidity cannot cause rippling.

Kool Tack has the pH neutral heat-activated adhesive ready coated onto the 1.4mm smooth pulp mounting board. The adhesive is low-tack when cold.

Manufactured in USA by Kool Tack this dry mounting board can reduce process time by comparison with using dry mounting tissue. The heat activated adhesive works best with art on smoother papers.

Papers and thin card bond to it at lower than normal temperatures. The heat activated adhesive works with most heated flat bed, mechanical and vacuum presses. Use Kool Tack for general mounting work in picture framing workshops, display studios and similar.

Specifications:

+ Face has a white paper liner coated with the heat-activated acid-free pH neutral adhesive. This helps long term preservation of the artwork

+ Core is solid wood pulp off-white, buffered with CaCo3 to pH 7.7 – 8.5

+ Kool Tack adhesive has a short dwell time of around 30-45 seconds, quicker than some other boards. Works with most heated flat bed, mechanical and vacuum presses. The lower bonding temperature of 75°C helps minimise rippling of the art during bonding of paper and occasional discoloration of inks. Both settings will be determined with experience.

+ Kool Tack is reversible and can often be re-used up to three times with care. This gives peace of mind and can reduce wastage should errors occur.

+ The adhesive surface has minimal tack at room temperature, helping to minimise dust accumulating on the surface during storage. Kool Tack boards should be stored flat, covered, at room temperature and average humidity.
