1906 Release Film Clear Double Sided 1070mm x 10m roll
1906 Release Film Clear Double Sided 1070mm x 10m roll
Clear polyester film, coated on both sides with non-stick silicone. Stops paper sticking to adhesive when it’s not intended
In any dry-mounting task, it often happens that there is exposed adhesive around an item being mounted. Laying Silicone Release Film or Release Paper face down over it will prevent surplus adhesive sticking to the heated platen.
Paper accidentally stuck to exposed adhesive can be tedious to reverse. It also stops adhesive sticking to the platen of a press, which can be tiresome to remove.
Release Film is transparent which makes it easier to position when working. It can be used either way up which is very handy in dry-mounting and over-laminating tasks.
Cautions:
- On dark and black posters and similar, silicone on film may leave smears when fresh. Minimise that by popping new film into the press between two sheets of scrap board of paper to absorb any surplus silicone.
- Clear Film is less inclined to crease than normal silicone release papers so can last longer.
- Store clear film carefully - its natural static attracts dust which can result in ‘pitting’ on the surface of the item being mounted.
